A Woman's Perspective vs. Man's Perspective

It was an ordinary day. Except for one thing. I had an appointment with the OBGYN. If you're a woman, you know how much I was *NOT* looking forward to it! To make matters worse, new doc. So once I'm in the exam room, there's  no time for any ice breakers. Hand shake and straight to the point.

On the way home, my husband asks, "So how'd you like the doctor?" To which I replied, "He's okay, not very friendly, but he seems to know his stuff." So hubby says, "He?!?!" Yes, Charles. It's a he. So after he digests this for a moment, he asks me how I feel about having a man OB. No biggie for me, really, but I prefer a woman. That's where the topic for this blog came from.

Upon informing my gracious husband, who apparently has no quirks about discussing these types of things, that I'd much rather prefer a woman OB, he says, "Well, if I had to have someone down there examining my stuff, I'd prefer a woman too." I thought this was funny, but interesting.

Obviously it's a "man" thing. Most guys don't want other guys all up in their stuff. Further more the idea of a strange, usually attractive, woman doing an exam of their goodies seems to be a turn on to most men. Women are different. This woman is. I'd rather a woman down there instead of a strange man. I don't know I guess I feel less "exposed". It's hard to imagine that the men docs don't go home and flash back to the day's activities and patients they may have had the pleasure of seeing the "other side" of. I can't help but wonder when I see my OB again, if he associates my face with what I look like, you know, down there.

It's not much, but it is a thought I had. I decided the other night when we had this conversation, I'd share with you all, and hopefully, get some insight from some of my readers on the topic. I can't help but wonder why men and women differ so much on this topic. I'm convinced the next five guys I asked, "Would you rather have a man or woman examine you "down under?" would all say a  woman. I'm just as convinced that I'd get the same answer from the next five women.

A Little More About Me

I was born and raised in South Carolina with the exception of about 5 years in Houston TX. So I am southern through and through. I'd consider myself to be fairly average. As well as singing and songwriting, I love fishing, camping, and boating, and movies, shopping, and lots of other things. My marriage is an awesome one. I met my husband as crazy as it sounds on "crush or flush" a little dating app that I had on my phone. We have this amazing friendship and chemistry that makes our love come so naturally. That's another thing about me... I love really truly and fervently. I love animals. I love my brothers kids. I love my husband.
I have a few simple dreams... to have a few nice things, and have an album produced, but mostly, I'd really like to touch your heart through this blog, and the hearts of others I meet with a kind word or smile.

Thanks in advance for following me and visiting often!
